Capital Investments Grants

This program provides discretionary grants for fixed guideway investments including new and expanded rapid rail, commuter rail, light rail, and bus rapid transit, with eligible projects falling under New Starts, Small Starts, and Core Capacity. IIJA makes several updates and additions to the program, including requiring applicants to make progress on asset management performance targets and allowing sponsors to simultaneously move multiple projects through the pipeline, among other changes.
