National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program

This program, through competitive grant programs and a national database, seeks to characterize, interpret, and disseminate accurate Earth framework models through geologic mapping and research to support responsible use of land, water, energy, and minerals and to mitigate the impact of geologic hazards on society. IIJA adds an abandoned mine land and waste geologic mapping component.
