The Commission is an economic development partnership agency of the federal government and 13 state governments that innovates, partners, and invests in the Appalachian Region to build its community capacity and strengthen economic growth through grants, research, and learning. IIJA provides additional funding to ARC's regular appropriation, reauthorizes ARC for five years, and creates several other changes to statutory authorities.
